Stanford Experience

This two weeks in this program have been an awesome experience. In it I have learned many different things that I know they will help me in the future. During the procedure, there were people that without them this wouldn’t have been a success, so I would like to give a huge thanks to Hernán, Manuel and Sherol for all the help and support they gave us. They two amazing weeks that I hope to get the next year.

Board Game

We were told to make a board game with a group, and the game I created with Nicolás and Benjamín was called Monster Hunt EV.

The game consists of throwing the dice to land in a box with a monster. The monster’s stats is shown in the box (HP,ATK and the reward of killing the monster). To kill the monster you need to throw the dice again and the same number or more than the monster’s HP, or else the creature will damadge you with its ATK number. It will continue to attack you until you defeat it. The 2 rewards you can get from monsters are coins and hero points. With coins you an buy extra dice to attack monsters or a potion to regenerate health.

Pixel Art

Today we made Pixel Art using an application called Piskel. Then we made the drawing that we did in perler beads. The drawing I made was a wizard, the one below.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is the intelligence showed by machines or softwares. Artificial Intelligence is also the name of an academic field that studies how to create computers and softwares that are capable of intelligent behavior.

Sploder

Today we used Sploder. Sploder is a website where you can make your own free games online. It is an easy and cool way to make games.

This is the game I created:

Final presentation

This are the three topics that I chose to describe:

-Game studies: Ludus, Paida and Narrative

-Arduino

-Hour of Code.

Game Studies: I think people would be interested in Game studies because by knowing this topic you can evaluate, understand and describe a game, being precise and brief. Game studies are three things that are really important to a game. Narrative is the story that the game has. Paida are the rules and things you can do in a game. And finally there is Ludus, which is the winning condition or the thing you have got to do to win the game. I like game studies because it helps me understand a game and that helps you to evaluate the game.

Arduino: Arduino is the type of program that people like because it has its own unique, simplified programming language, a vast support network, and thousands of potential uses, which is perfect for people wanting to learn about programming. Arduino is an open-source physical computing platform designed to make experimenting with electronics more fun and intuitive. I like Arduino for the same reason people would like the program.

Hour of Code: I think people would like Hour of Code because the program teaches you the basic stuff of programming, making the program fun and interesting for beginners. Hour of Code is a program that introduces you to computer science, teaching you the essential part that you need to know about programming. I like Hour of Code because it teaches you about programming in a fun and exciting way other programs are not able to achieve.

Arduino

Today we used a platform called Arduino. Arduino is an open-source physical computing platform designed to make experimenting with electronics more fun and intuitive. Arduino has its own unique, simplified programming language, a vast support network, and thousands of potential uses, making it the perfect platform for beginner DIY enthusiasts.
